VFX COMPOSITOR

Always interested in challenging & interesting opportunities that the compositing  jobs offer. Keen to step out there and work on anything that can keep my mind creatively fresh. If you think I have the credentials to work with you, e-mail me and we can take it from there.

COMPOSITING MENTOR

Learn techniques & procedures that I use on my job everyday to build my scripts  and comp my shots.  Get your work critiqued & receive high quality constructive feedback to add that extra 5% to your project. If you are seeking a job to enter this industry, get advice about what your demo reel should & shouldn't have.

COMPOSITING TRAINER

I am also keen to work with institutions & set up  a well thought about Compositing Training Program. If you are an institute/academy that teaches Compositing we could work together to improve the quality of the education offered to new entrants.

THE COMPOSITING MENTORSHIP PROGRAM

How can you benefit by making me your Mentor?

OVERCOMING TECHNICAL & CREATIVE ROADBLOCKS:

How many times have you encountered roadblocks in your project and felt the need to ask for professional help to solve the problem?

Posting your queries on Online Forums and hoping that someone replies with an answer that works is one way to get around this. But it also means waiting for an uncertain time for a reply or completely changing your approach and redoing or redesigning your project. By making me your mentor, you will have able to have a one-on-one discussion with me over e-mail & video calls. You can speed over bumps quickly and cut through unnecessary work.

SHARING OF KNOWLEDGE:

I have gathered a fair amount of knowledge over the years that I have spent so far. When you are working at an A-list company with talented colleagues you learn so much everyday. You also learn to share all that you know. As your mentor, I will share everything I know about compositing and VFX and at the same time try to make it as interesting as possible.

CRITIQUE & COMMENTS ON YOUR WORK:

By experience I now know what most supervisors look at in a shot to make it look better. If we can check those off the list for your project, we can make the shots look significantly better and real. Using free and easily accessible tools for online collaboration you get feedback on the shot real-time and discuss it too. I'll explain ins & outs of the project’s day to day tasks, help you set a timeline and targets.

LATEST INDUSTRY PRACTICES, CAREER & PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT:

It is important to keep up to date with the latest techniques and practices that the leaders of VFX in the industry are adopting. Its always a good thing to be aware of new softwares, changes in the VFX pipeline, hardware and equipment upgrades happening around in the industry. I will keep sharing the latest happenings in the areas of new techniques and software/hardware etc. so that you stay well informed.

What I will 'NOT' share with you:

Studios are extremely sensitive about  the information the artists working there share with the outside world. I too am bound by the NON-DISCLOSURE AGREEMENTS (NDAs) & CONFIDENTIALITY AGREEMENTS and am forbidden to share information about the projects that I am working on. I will request you to respect this privacy because we have a lot of knowledge and information that can be shared anyway !

THE COMPOSITING TRAINING PROGRAM

The training program is a good mix of both Theory & Practical exercises. The software of choice would be Nuke, but rather than teaching how to use a software and the functions inside it, I prefer training using real world examples  and scenarios that would typically happen in an A-list studio. This will include how an artist is briefed by his Lead or Supervisor regarding what has to be done in the shot, what the milestones and targets would be etc.

All this training will use footages that I have shot and assets that I  have assembled so that you don't have to worry about it. I have thoughtfully outlined the training program to suit all 3: BEGINNER, INTERMEDIATE & ADVANCED levels.

If you are an individual or represent a College/University/Training Institute & are interested in setting up Online Compositing Masterclasses on specific topics or if you want to find out about what these programs have to offer in detail, how much it costs etc. you can reach me from the form on this page.

Click on the "SIGN UP HERE" button to fill up a simple form. Choose "CTP" as the course type and mention what information you are looking for in the 'message' section. I will get back to you.

VISUAL EFFECTS COMPOSITOR

WHAT I DO:

Download my CV

I am currently employed by Double Negative Visual Effects, where I have been working since March 2011 & the experience has been absolutely great! I have done a variety of work which ranges from heavy CG and FX shots on The Hunger Games: Mockingjay I, Godzilla, The Fast and Furious 6, Total Recall & Captain America to invisible FX like set extensions and sky replacements on Hercules, Captain Phillips & Battleship, and also Stereo 3D composites on Exodus: Gods & Kings & The Pirates! I've also had the opportunity to be a Lead Compositor on a few of these films which is altogether another learning experience.

Before DNEG I worked for 4 years at Rhythm & Hues Studios. During this time I had the opportunity to work on several large projects & create a strong base to grow in the right direction. After working for a year & a half on projects involving complicated rig removals & difficult rotos, I was selected for the compositing training & have been compositing ever since.

STRENGTHS:

I'm an extremely quick learner. My formal education in Computer Engineering has helped me develop a very strong technical base and problem solving skills.

I have a good eye for color and attention to detail for realism. I am creative, very enthusiastic & I like to work with a closely knit team.

As I have strong interest in 3D, I like to stay up to date with the latest changes to Lighting & Rendering and the FX pipeline in my free time at work & have a decent knowledge of creating Render Layers & Passes.
